Descriptoin of the procedure

Hyperhidrosis is caused by hyperreactivity of the sweat glands. The treatment involves the application of botulinum toxin, which temporarily (for 6-8 months) reduces sweat excretion by the glands at the site of the toxin’s application (blockage of cholinergic conductivity). The procedure is carried out using a very fine needle after prior application of anaesthetic cream.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin, infection at the planned treatment sites, active autoimmune disease, neoplastic disease, myasthenia gravis, Eaton-Lambert Syndrome, serious blood coagulation defects, breast feeding.
