description of the procedure
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has been proven to biostimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin fibres as well as form a network of new blood vessels in the skin. It also stimulates intercellular matrix synthesis. PRP is an autologous (your own) platelet rich plasma preparation obtained from the patient’s blood after prior centrifuging. Commonly, a series of 1-4 sessions is performed with 4 week intervals between sessions. The procedure is carried out using a very fine needle after former application of anaesthetic cream. It is completely painless. The effects are visible immediately after the procedure. Maximum neo-collagenosis (new collagen production) is achieved 2 months after the procedure. The full effect is obtained from 2 to 4 months after the procedure.
